I don’t really have a band.

February 23, 2009 at 10:40 pm (Art, Fiction)

…but if I did, this would be our first album:

album

Thanks, Josh.

1. Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2. Go to http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3. Go to http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4. Use Photoshop (or something else!) to put it all together.
5. Post a link to it and share with your friends!

I just don’t trust them

February 21, 2009 at 8:54 pm (Life) (, , , , , , , )

“Daddy, what was the final turning point before the robots made us their slaves?”
“Well, son… our scientists created………………… talking GPS. From that point on, there was no turning back.”
“Why’s that?”
“They started using pretty voices to tell us where to go and what to do. We didn’t even realize it until it was too late.”
“I drew a picture of the last days of our city.”
“That’s nice son. Now go to sleep. The machines will be here in a few hours.”

new art for an odd week

February 20, 2009 at 8:01 pm (Life)

This week has been…………different.

On top of that, the girlfriend’s place is way north of my stomping grounds, so I’ve been displaced from The Coffee Break. Earlier today I found a local coffee shop up here, but I got there at 5:52 and they close at 6. Boo. So I’m in a Port Corp. Java. Eh…yeah.

Anyway, while I’m killing time here, recovering from 4 days of the flu (today is the chest-punching coughing action), I threw down a piece of art…mainly because I hadn’t had my tablet out in a while.

It’s titled “He Was Off With a Bang!”

inspired by song

February 10, 2009 at 11:51 am (Life)

Sometimes song lyrics get stuck in my head (Placebo used to have a studio apartment in my frontal lobe) and finally they make their way out in my art. Lately it’s been The Dead Kennedys song “Holiday in Cambodia.” If the name Cambodia doesn’t immediately strike up images of death, the name Pol Pot, or the political party Khmer Rouge… you need to do some research. Also, I’m ashamed of you.

Here’s my piece, Holiday in Cambodia.
[edit: reworked the piece. original was too static for my tastes.]

secret revealed

February 9, 2009 at 7:49 pm (Art)

When you see me at The Coffee Break, working diligently over my computer and tablet (which still needs a name), I’m probably doing something like this (titled “Mr. Darcy” for Jayme…for some reason):

frogman

But you know what? That frame sells it! Add a border to any picture and we’re talking “museum quality” baby!
